Testimonials

We now have testimonials from military, police, fire and EMS personnel, civilians, and licensed clinicians – all of whom have experienced the profound healing provided by the RTM Protocol™. Nothing brings the national PTSD problem and the need and value for productive life more in focus than the words of those administering and experiencing the RTM Protocol™.

What RTM Practitioners are saying…

For our community, RTM has the potential to change the game. It is now only cost effective but clinically effective, countering the high cost of PTSD and its impact. For example, the Congressional Budget Office estimated (based on VA data) that” PTSD could cost up to $7,000 per year per person” … for the gentleman, the 10 years he suffered through PTSD cost approximately $70,000 just in treatment costs. This study does not account for the cost to families or generational changes. In my estimation, it is the closest thing we have come in mental healthcare system to creating systemic change, the way antibiotics did for medicine.

I watched your June 16 2019 segment with great interest. I too suffered horrifically from PTSD after with violent dreams, flashbacks and intrusive thoughts to include contemplating suicide. There is a recently released breakthrough cure for PTS. Please note I used the word “cure” not “treatment.” Every other Trauma therapy currently in use requires the client to re-live the trauma over and over again RTM is a revolutionary technique that, not only allows, but requires the client to remain in a calm and relaxed state during the process. RTM is 92% effective in 3-5 sessions of 90 minutes or less. Our country needs at least 20,000 trained LMHCs- RTM certified to adequately lend the assistance needed to stop the 22 suicides per day down to near zero and to keep families together by helping our broken warriors. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

I’ve been working with 1st responders for almost 30 years and I’m angry that I didn’t have this sooner. Every Clinician must be trained in RTM so together we can wipe out PTSD.

-Parkland Psychologist

I wanted to introduce myself and say how impressed I am by your research and work! I was a therapist trained at Parkland and everywhere I go I try and spread the word about RTM. I have had a lot of success in my practice… My practice today consists largely of first responders or medical professionals who come to me deeply conflicted about seeking help….Your work changes people. I see it. I wanted you to know I see results in Boca Raton, Florida. I know first responders benefit but I see this protocol extended to trauma from drug epidemic and all kinds of trauma. I see lives restored and dignity given back. Blessings.

I can’t tell you how much RTM has changed my life. I’m still baffled but it’s awesome and also works for my clients. Thank you for introducing me to it!

Since attending this training I continue to be amazed at the results I get with clients using the protocol. Wiping away their trauma symptoms and as a result reducing/eliminating limiting the destructive patterns of behaviour that they have developed to manage the anxiety and trauma. So allowing clients to move forward and deal with their issues, some continued to need therapy but to deal with issues like sadness, loss which they felt more able to work on once the trauma response wasn’t stopping them facing what they need to face.

Comments like:

-This has changed my life completely – I feel free.

-Thanks for giving me my daughter back – she’s able to live again.

-I have slept properly for the first time in years… no nightmares. My family say I’m not stressful to live with anymore.

-I actually enjoyed the sessions – even though the stuff I was working on was normally impossible to talk about!

-I have no idea how something so easy has got rid of feelings that have been ruining my life for so long, it’s unbelievable.

This is a quick, pain free and cost effective and lasting method to help clients with trauma.

I am practicing therapist from Albuquerque New Mexico specializing in treating individuals with co-occurring disorders and trauma. Over the past ten years the trauma treatment field has advanced significantly bringing forward new therapies for treating PTSD. These new therapies, such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and Mindfulness-based Emotional Processing, have brought relief from and/or desensitization to traumatic memories for many suffering with PTSD. However, they can often take a long time to deliver successfully and require the client to be emotionally uncomfortable, if not intolerably so, despite the trained clinician’s best efforts to make the client comfortable. Recently I became trained in Reconsolidating Traumatic Memories (RTM), a new technique in trauma work that is grounded in a growing body of research. I am currently treating thirteen clients with RTM and am finding that most clients are able to go from being highly distressed about a memory to zero in just three sessions. This is a remarkable development in the field. Moreover, the RTM protocol does not require the client to experience the full emotional experience of the traumatic memory. I am finding this trauma protocol is nothing short of a remarkable breakthrough for the field.

I completed the RTM Training via zoom in May 2020, the training was amazing, and I felt it was delivered at a good pace throughout.  The trainers were excellent, giving appropriate support and guidance when needed and so passionate about what they were delivering. Since the training I have worked with several clients, all who have been amazed by the quick and effective results of the RTM process. It’s wonderful to see their faces, so happy, often confused looks at being unable to access their previous states, then receiving their feedback about how their lives have changed in so many positive ways and so quickly. For me this is a life changing gift which I feel blessed to be part of, I intend to use it and promote abundantly in any work with others. Thank you.

…I work with clients with a broad range of issues. In 2020, I became aware of the RTM Protocol. RTM is a protocol which removes the symptoms of PTSD and other traumas in three sessions or less, without asking the client to re-live the trauma. In fact, part of the protocol is to actively stop them from re-living the trauma until it is cleared. I became a Certified RTM Practitioner in 2021. Since I started using RTM, I have become increasingly confident working with trauma clients. The ability to help clients much more effectively, speedily and comfortably than before has been a very rewarding experience. I have witnessed clients’ lives being transformed as they are freed from burdens that have been affecting them, sometimes for decades. One client described her experience of RTM as follows:

I have tried lots of different therapies, but when it comes to coping with experiences that affected almost every aspect of my life, RTM protocol therapy has been a success beyond expectation.  Instead of attempting to treat symptoms, my therapist treated the cause – a traumatic event.  My therapy was entirely online, yet I felt very supported, very safe.  I am very grateful for this therapy and feel like a functioning human again!

I really recommend you look into becoming a Certified RTM Practitioner. It has changed the way I work with my trauma clients forever.

What clients are saying...

I am a United States Army Veteran.  Since my discharge from the military in 2001, I have endured and suffered from service-related trauma.  For close to 18 years, I have been a prisoner to my nightmares, to the hypervigilance, to my emotions, and the overwhelming guilt of the events that took place during my military service.  Over these years, I have been incarcerated, hospitalized at numerous mental health institutions, and have experienced frequent, yet lengthy, periods of homelessness. I am not alone in my suffering.  My family has endured in watching me go through my twisted cycle of mental and emotional torture, suicide attempt after attempt, hospital after hospital, and jail after jail.  Endlessly I struggled to fight those demons within that fed on my soul.  I had come to terms that this was my reality and that this would be my life of continuous darkness.  I express this to you in hopes that it will help you understand the hopeless circumstances in which I once lived. Through the guidance, knowledge, and dedication of Dr. Denise Budden-Potts, I am forever thankful.  The depth of my gratitude, my respect, and that of my entire being is within these words, “Thank you.”  I thank you, first and foremost, for this opportunity.  I thank you for Dr. Denise and the Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories method.  I thank you for helping me release myself from the bondage of my past and my guilt.  I thank you for now I can see the beauty around me.  I thank you for the light that I now stand in.  I thank you for the opportunity to be present in the moment with my family, but most of all, my son.  I thank you for the gift of my life.  Mostly, I thank you for allowing me the resources to learn how to finally love myself. Sincerely,

Blue Angels, I want to take the time to thank you for this great therapy that has had a tremendous positive change to my mental state of mind.  Suffering from past situations has hindered my relationships, career and being able to enjoy life.  I feel the difference when I interact with other people.  I have more control over actions and emotions than in the past.  I highly recommend this therapy to individuals that are haunted from experiences that prevent them from being able to maximize their life. Once again, I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. God Bless,

Dear Blue Angels Foundation: I would like to take a moment to thank you for your generosity and the gift you gave to me. You don’t know me personally, however, your donation has had a greater impact on my health and wellness than you could ever imagine. Your donations made it possible that I received therapy from Dr. Denise Budden-Potts. As a result, my overall quality of life has increased in abundance. The voluntary treatment of Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) has been a life-changing experience for me. Before treatment, I was unable to talk about my specific traumatic experiences without feeling overwhelmed with emotions which ranged from guilt to sadness, fear, and even anger. Although I don’t consider my past experience to be table topics or leisure discussion, I can openly discuss the past events and appreciate the value of my new understandings. I have learned that I can accept previous experiences and cognitively classify fragments of my history – where past periods, actions, and results have no bearing on the present. My ability to concentrate has increased since I’ve given my mind and soul respite from a past that I clung onto so desperately but could not control. Today I feel more energetic and my motivational levels have increased. I maintain a social-balance with family, friends, school, fitness, and entertainment. I don’t carry the stresses of shame and the endless, “what if” scenarios that plagued my thoughts in the past. The list of benefits, rewards, and opportunities I am experiencing today are too numerous to write down, believe me. Once again, thank you for your generosity and the kindness you show towards me and our veteran population. God bless you and the work you do!

I must admit that I was skeptical the RTM protocol at first, but when I began to experience relief from the nightmares, poor sleep quality, and hyper-awareness, I was both truly surprised and grateful. Over the course of multiple tours to Iraq, Africa, and Afghanistan, I had accumulated stress and trauma from situations that I would attempt to repress or try to ignore, but the stress and perceived sense of danger that I felt was always lurking beneath the surface. Though I had tried prolonged exposure treatment in the past, it only dulled the fear, pain, and sadness that I felt; however, thanks to the RTM protocol, I have not experienced nightmares or pervasive disturbing thoughts, regarding my military service, in the weeks since my treatment. I feel like I have a piece of myself back, a piece I use to tell people “I must have left overseas.”

Client #3237

I had my reservations, having gone through several different methods of treating PTSD to no avail. Actually, those experiences made my symptoms worse because I thought I was too broken to be “fixed.” After my first session, I immediately noticed a difference. After my second session, I was sold! The following three sessions solidified my new beginning and literally saved my life! Who knew that you can retrain your brain in a few hours, without medication, to remove yourself from the traumatic events that have been crushing you and making you wish you would just die? It’s nothing short of a miracle! This protocol completely removed any and all suicidal thoughts and depression! Thank you!

Dear Blue Angels Foundation: Thank you for this opportunity of a lifetime. I have been avoiding this issue of sexual assault that happened in 2012 during my enlistment in the Marine Corp. The event happened the first month on base. I have had trouble sleeping due to nightmares, trust issues in my own family and other problems in social areas where I would avoid.  The flashbacks were aggravating and depressing when they happened. The aftermath of meeting Dr. Denise is that I faced and changed my life with the aid of her assistance and the RTM Protocol treatment. I haven’t had any nightmares or any issues sleeping due to the event. I am planning on opening up a tailor shop when I get a more permanent residence. There is a future and there is hope and gratefulness. I am no longer guilty and blaming myself for the incident.  That is the best and most important thing for any MST survivor to accomplish.  I am now Ok taking myself outside and going places.  I engage in conversation with people I know. I am very appreciative that there is this program for active duty and veteran survivors of PTSD, MST or any trauma.  I couldn’t rely on the main VA for help with this as they only want to try their medications on me.  Thank you very much for this opportunity.  I am not the same as I was a month ago. Gratefully,

I would like to thank the Blue Angels Foundation for helping to make the RTM treatment possible to me and my fellow servicemembers and veterans. Without it I know my life would have continued to be one full of anxiety, nightmares, negative thoughts and feelings controlling my every thought and decision. I am so very thankful for the treatment I have received by Dr. Denise Budden-Potts. It has transformed my life completely. I went from being a paranoid, anxious, negative mess, to a happier, relaxed and more positive person. I no longer have the nightmares or flashbacks I’ve been dealing with for so many years. I have started to have restful sleep without horrible nightmares or thoughts waking me up in the middle of the night. After four treatments I feel lighter, like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I don’t feel shame or blame myself for things that were out of my control. I was very skeptical the first time I heard about the treatment about a year ago.  I did not believe there was a way that in such a short period of time, my life would change as much as it has.   I was also very afraid and ashamed, so I put it in the back burner. Unfortunately, my life did not get any better.  As a matter of fact it got worse. It affected my relationship with my kids, family, and my marriage. Finally, I decided to try it out, and now the only regret I have is not doing RTM sooner.  Had I known then what I know now, I would have done the treatment sooner. Thank you for giving me a happier life. I will forever be thankful.

I would like to thank The Blue Angels Foundation for funding my treatment that I received. To start off before I got my Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories treatment I had severe anxiety and nightmares on a regular basis. I had trouble going to restaurants and being in public places. Due to my anxiety it made it hard for me to go out in public. When people would talk about certain things I did in combat, I would become irritable and angry, my heart would start pounding and I would be upset. After receiving RTM treatment I feel more calm and relaxed. My heart doesn’t pound when I think about those things and I feel so much better. I’m able to talk about events now and not get upset. I feel an overall peace. I sleep better. I feel more relaxed. I can go into restaurants and public places and do not have anxiety. Because of this treatment I feel like a new man who has a second chance at life and my outlook on life is so much better now. Once again I would like to thank you for this valuable treatment I received and many people who are struggling with ptsd will benefit from it.

I cannot exaggerate how skeptical I was walking into Dr. Denise’s office that morning. I was already upset at the fact I even had to bother to fit her into my mundane and relaxed schedule of watching TV and trolling Facebook.  To be honest I was wondering if the time and effort was even worth it. I stayed because there was gas money promised for completing this therapy, and again there was nothing else interesting in my life. Dr. Denise sat me down and explained that this was a proven method, that worked and although a little unorthodox or strange, the results would be both gratifying and I would be relieved of all this anxiety which was all consuming. SHE WAS NOT LYING! I was finally able to fall asleep without the overwhelming memories controlling me. There was a newfound pleasure in hanging out with new friends, not to mention making new acquaintances. My concentration was back to what I call normal and I had to actually force my thoughts to remember that which once was all negative and dark. It makes me chuckle a bit when Dr. Denise, on her follow up session asked me about specifics, because until that exact moment, I hadn’t really given past events any thought at all in the past months. I can’t say that I’m 100% cured but I am happy and functional. I don’t have to live in a bubble anymore and keep my family isolated because of the fear of the unknown and the evils that lurk around every corner. I will say I am vigilant and cautious but not consumed by fear. I am happy to be part of society and able to reintegrate with even those that have never served. I am no longer captive to my past or a victim of those mishaps. I want to thank Dr. Denise and all those responsible for this RTM treatment as well as those that fund this great work. I was skeptical and now I am a champion of its results. My family is grateful for returning me back to them, as they once knew me. Keep up the great work!

Client #3223

After only 4 sessions with RTM Protocol, I now sleep much more restful and wake up feeling more optimistic about life in general. I’ve dealt with anger, guilt and shame and I have a much more positive outlook with these specific events that I used to get upset about. Again thank you for the sessions. I have encouraged other Vets to try it and they also liked it.

The challenges I’ve experienced with my emotional wellness and physical wellbeing have spanned over an almost 30 year military and fire service career. PTSD, Alcoholism, night terrors, survivor guilt, and at times, my loss of faith in humanity, are all scars I’ve bared over my career of military and public service. Your generous donation and commitment to helping veterans like myself is a debt I can never repay. The voluntary treatment of Reconsolidation of Traumatic Memories (RTM) has allowed me to look at the past events in my life with a sense of pride, rather than guilt and shame. My relationships with family and friends are recharged, my energy level is up, I no longer fear sleep, and the angry bear in me is at rest. I feel as if the years of heartache, what if’s, and ‘why did I make it?’ are past me. This wonderful treatment program blessed me with the ability to finally speak with the spouse and children of a fallen brother I lost on Fathers day, fifteen years ago. We spoke of the event, laughed together, and relished in his memory. Thank you will never be enough.
